My name is Eva and I need your help!

My mother passed away this past summer after losing a valiant 2 1/2 year struggle with terminal cancer and kidney failure. During this time, our family made a superhuman effort to take care of her at home in a loving environment even as her health declined. My mom's illness has taken its toll on me, both physically and emotionally. Caregiving coupled with my demanding job was a great challenge to say the least! My free time was virtually non-existent. But, the benefits were even greater- let me highlight a few.
1. My mother's disease taught me PATIENCE...most of us take for granted the simple tasks of clothing ourselves, cooking, cleaning and so on. My mother couldn't do any of this at all.
2. My mother has taught me the meaning of love and self-sacrifice. She was a devoted mother and in turn I couldn't even think of abandoning her to a hospital. I promised her that I would keep her at home.
3. My mother's generosity of spirit shined through her suffering. When I was at my wits end and feeling lonely and upset, she would ask for forgiveness for any hardship she might be causing me. To hear her say this made everything worthwhile!

By taking care of our mother at home, I figure we saved the health care system and the government a large amount of money, as a long-term care hospital bed costs over $1,000 a day.

Unfortunately, providing home care turned out to be expensive and not all of it was covered by health insurance. The bottom line is that I am $30,000 in debt and see no way out from under this burden. That is, until I came upon the savekaryn.com website which gave me hope and inspiration for starting this site.
If you feel my pain - feel free to give me a dollar! If you have an extra buck or two, I ask that you please send it my way. Even if you only send one dollar, it will be greatly appreciated.
All I need is $1 from 30,000 people or $2 from 15,000 people or $10 from 3,000 people...you get the picture. If I ever manage to get $30,000, my debt will be erased and I will immediately post that on this site and request that no more money be sent.
